Tryouts

We will have tryouts for only the Boys 5th-8th Grade because we are expecting multiple teams at these age groups.

Typically, we would like to have two tryout days per age group and have tryouts done before January but due to Covid-19 restrictions that made it impossible.  We have been able to see a lot of players from our fall, winter 1 and winter 2 sessions which will help with our evaluation process.

Cost:  $20

Location:  The Edge (4450 Denrose Ct, Fort Collins, CO 80524)

Times:

  • Friday Jan 29th 5:00pm-7:00pm: 5th & 6th Grade boys
  • Saturday Jan 30th 8:00am - 10:00am: 7th & 8th Grade boys
  • Saturday Feb 6th 11:00am - 12:00pm: Make-up day 5th-8th Grade boys

Important Points about Tryouts:

  • Tryouts are for players who would like to make a white or red level team. The leagues we play in have 3 levels of play, Blue (Beginner) White (Intermediate) Red (Advanced).
  • If you do not tryout you will automatically be placed on the Blue team.
  • All players will make a team regardless of skill set.
  • If you are a player from another program that is deciding based on tryout results if you want to play for 970 Lax. I am sorry, but you will have to purchase a uniform before tryout results are available.  We ask if this is a concern of yours, please reach out with questions.
  • In the future we plan to have tryouts done before January to avoid a situation where you must order a uniform before you know team placement but with Covid-19 restrictions this year that just was not possible.
