This Winter, 970 Lax is excited to offer a few different options for players to continue growing as lacrosse players.

In the Strength & SAQ Clinics, players will train to be more explosive and become better all around athletes. These sessions will seriously help to give every player that competitive edge going into the Spring Season. This is meant for 4th grade and older however, please reach out to Josh (Jschwall54@gmail.com) if you would like your younger player to participate.

In the Sandlot Games (WINTER SESSION 1 ONLY), players will learn different skills that will be useful to them on the lacrosse field through drills during the first half hour. The remaining time will be for small sided games such as 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 where players will need to implement those skills before going to the goal. This is meant to develop the players "Lax IQ" or lacrosse knowledge and give them the skills to really excel when they get on the fields in Spring.

Small Group Clinics are designed around the progression of the individual player from stick skills, foot work, "Lax IQ" and more! The main goal of these sessions are to get players ready for the spring season and to have them more prepared to help their team. By the player making themselves a little better, they are making their team great! In the 8 weeks, players will advance their offensive and defensive knowledge and skill in groups of no more than 10 players so that they can get the most reps possible during the session. Goalies may show up to any of the sessions along with their goalie specific group to see more live action play.

Examples of Small Groups Session themes:

  • dodging set up and techniques
  • shooting form and techniques
  • lacrosse related footwork for offense and defense
  • communication
  • defensive stick placement and approaches

Goalie sessions are designed to rapidly progress any goalie involved. Goalies will work on footwork, save techniques, rebound control, overall stick skills, communication and their clear game.

Most importantly, we want to play with courage, resolve and great character (Grit!), a (Positive!) attitude and (Relentless!) effort! Grit! Positive! Relentless!
