What will 970 Lax look like?
970 Lax will run outreach programs and multi-level clinics throughout the year. We will offer spring season game play and off-season clinics and programs. We anticipate being able to run more programs under our new partnership. Our non-profit arm will be focused on fundraising, equipment acquisition, outreach, and grant writing.

Who are the coaches and leaders?
Our program will include our dedicated 970 Lax coaches who are excited to share their knowledge and love of the game.  One of our visions at 970 Lax is to closely align with the high school and college lacrosse programs in the area, so you can expect to have lots of involvement from CSU and local high school players and high school coaches during the off-season.  During spring season, it is our goal to put our teams in a position to succeed by giving them access to qualified coaches that know and understand the game.  Another mission of 970 Lax is to actively recruit and cultivate/educate our existing coaches as well as new coaches. These efforts will continue on a year-round basis as we work to create an experienced spring and off-season coaching staff that is in the best interest of the players as well as 970 Lax .  Dom Alfieri will be overseeing and vetting the coaching staff on the boy’s side with the responsibility of all coaching assignments.

Why AYL?
The AYL is a Denver-based program that intends to help facilitate the growth of an independent Northern Colorado league. AYL is the fastest growing spring youth lacrosse program in Colorado. AYL offers multiple levels of competition: Red-Advanced; White-Intermediate; and Blue-Beginner. AYL divisions are based on grade ranging from 1st through 8th.  We are excited to help initiate this growth into our area!

What will the season look like?
Because AYL is a Denver-based program, most games will be in Denver with the expectation that we may have double headers. So, your player may have a weekend or two where he doesn’t have games because he’ll be playing two games when you do travel to Denver.  As more programs from Northern Colorado move to the AYL over the next year or two, our travel will continue to decrease.  All practices will be held locally.

Will there be tryouts?
970 Lax will be holding tryouts in the next few weeks.  Please fill out the AYL Interest Survey today!!!

How do I register?
We will have a 970 Lax site up and ready for spring registration soon and will send out a notification email to alert you.

What will pricing look like?
Pricing will be similar to last year and over the years increase at a normal rate. Look forward to Early Bird Registration for Spring coming soon!!!

What is the plan for future spring seasons?
By combining a boys’ and girls’ program as 970 Lax, we will work with AYL to grow the game in Northern Colorado so that we will have enough clubs in our area to have our own Northern Colorado division, with supplemental games against AYL Denver teams, and a state championship where we play all CO teams.

I would like to be involved in 970 Lax. What can I do?
Great! We’d love to have you. Please continue to stay tuned for specific parent roles. As of now we need you’re support in filling out this AYL Interest Survey and helping to spread the word about this new opportunity and how amazing the game of lacrosse is for our youth athletes!
